Members of Voice: the union for education professionals don't take strike action. There's more on the reasons for this at:

I agree!
They get paid millions and do so little for the future. Children are the future!

I've always thought that those who work in health, education and care should be paid more!

Nurses are paid less than teachers, they have to work horrid shifts & they often don't have a social life because of it; yet they do such an important job! It's similar for those who are carers. They have to work funny shifts, lift those who are not mobile, do jobs that lets face it, most people wouldn't want to do; yet they don't get anything near what a medic, accountant, business consultant or account manager gets! And then you have teachers. We are semi social workers, carers for the kids and often the adults too, educators, counsellors and so much more. Yet we'll only get something similar to what business consultants or account managers would get if we became a head or deputy. With that, comes more responsibility and you're often, but not always, further away from the children.
I don't get it!
Does anyone else have any ideas?
