This piece of work was marked and the child was allowed to take it home. The day after, she returned to school with the following note: -

Dear Ms. Davis,

I want to be very clear on my child’s illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint. I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This drawing is of me…. selling a shovel.

This advert was on the tube. I think it’s so amazing! It is funny, weird and highlights why so many children struggle to read if they cannot remember the bizarre rules we have in the English language.

If GH can stand for P in Hiccough

If OUGH can stand for O in Dough

Hey I had to include this in my post! It’s excellent! There’s no subtitles so you need to be able to understand Hindi or be with someone who can translate it for you. Anyway I’m sure you’ll think it’s wiked!

An English professor wrote the words:

“A woman without her man is nothing” on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.

All of the males in the class wrote: “A woman, without her man, is nothing.”

All the females in the class wrote: “A woman: without her, man is nothing.”

Punctuation is powerful!
