Harrow Councils No Excuses Grant – to help residents improve the energy efficiency of their home

I saw an article this the Harrow People magazine so I emailed info@harrow.gov.uk and asked them to tell me more about it. Here’s what I found out.

Dear Heena,

Thank you for your recent interest in Harrow Councils No Excuses Grant.
The ‘No Excuses’ grant is aimed at helping residents who are most likely ‘fuel poor’, improve the energy efficiency of their home by making small changes.
The grant is up to £400 maximum and can be used to install energy saving measures or used to enable them to be carried out, e.g. fit a loft hatch so the property can benefit from loft insulation or replacing an old (over 15 years old) fridge freezer.

To qualify for the grant you must be either must be an owner-occupier or a private renting tenant with a repairing obligation and a tenancy agreement which exceeds 12 months and either: – be receiving one or more of the following benefits: Income Support, Housing benefit, council tax benefit, disability living allowance, attendance allowance, guaranteed pension credit, income-based jobseekers allowance OR – Over 70 years of age

If you feel you qualify for the No Excuses grant and would like to apply I have attached the application form, terms and conditions and letter that would normally be sent with it.
