This song is from the film Jodha Akbar.

When the Sufis sing this song the emperor himself gets up and joins them whilst the Sufis dance. He appears intoxicated in this Bhakti. There’s something about it, regardless of the faith that I follow; which makes me feel at peace, hopeful and divine.

If it helps I’ve pasted the lyrics below 🙂

Singer : A.R Rahman
Khwajaji, khwaja
Khwajaji, khwaja, khwaja ji
Ya gharib nawaz
Ya moinuddin, ya khwaja ji
Khwaja mere khwaja
Dil mein sama ja
Shaho ka shah tu
Ali ka dulara
Khwaja mere khwaja dil mein sama ja
Beqaso ki taqdeer, tune hai sawari
Khwaja mere khwaja
Tere darbar mein khwaja
Door toh hai dekha
Sar jhuka te hai auliya
Tu hai unalwali khwaja
Rutba hai pyara
Chahne se tujhko khwaja ji mustafa ko paya
Khwaja mere khwaja
Dil mein sama ja
Shaho ka shah tu
Ali ka dulara
Mere peer ka sadka
Hai mere peer ka sadka
Tera daaman hai thama
Khawajaji
Tali har bala humari
Chaya hai khumar tera
Jitna bhi rashk kare beshak
Toh kam hai ae mere khwaja
Tere kadmo ko mere rehnuma nahi chodna gawara
Khwaja mere khwaja
Dil mein sama ja
Shaho ka shah tu
Ali ka dulara
Khwaja mere khwaja dil mein sama ja
Beqaso ki taqdeer, tune hai sawari

Ditto. I remember watching it with you recently. It prompted me to tell you how much your own Bhakti and explanation of the meaning behind the words & the implicit symbolism has come on. Something to smile about! 🙂
