What is the message in a bottle scheme?
The message in a bottle scheme is a voluntary scheme, for anyone living at home who would be reassured to know that essential information would be available to the Emergency services should they suffer an accident or sudden illness.
How does the scheme work?
Your details are stored in a clearly labelled plastic container, which is kept in the fridge. Labels on the inside of the front door and on the fridge door will identify that you have one.
It can save valuable time in informing relatives, identifying existing conditions and medication.
